In a significant move to commemorate the 112th Founders’ Day anniversary of Eko Boys High School (EBHS), the Eko Boys High School Old Boys Association (EKOBA) commissioned three key projects aimed at enhancing the institution’s infrastructure and sports facilities. The projects, which include the E79 Adefule Gate/E75 Pedestrian Gate & Gatehouse, and the E81/82 Basketball Court, were officially inaugurated by members of the EKOBA Board of Trustees (BOT), Ekorian Sir Dr. Kola Ibirogba and Ekorian Otunba Funso Owoyemi alongside Mr. Lekan Fatodu, the Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission.
The commissioning event, held on the school premises, was attended by distinguished alumni, school administrators, students, and invited guests. The new E79 Adefule Gate and E75 Pedestrian Gate & Gatehouse were unveiled to provide improved security and accessibility for students, staff, and visitors. These newly constructed entrances reflect EKOBA’s commitment to preserving the heritage of the school while adapting to modern security needs.
In a further effort to promote sports and physical development among students, the association also unveiled the newly constructed E81/82 Basketball Court. The modern sports facility is expected to serve as a hub for training and competitions, fostering talent development in basketball and other related activities.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Lekan Fatodu commended EKOBA for its dedication to the advancement of EBHS, emphasizing the critical role of alumni associations in supporting educational institutions. He reiterated the Lagos State Sports Commission’s commitment to youth development through sports and applauded the initiative to provide the students with a world-class basketball facility.
The President of EKOBA, Ekorian Odofin Kayode Elliot in his address, expressed gratitude to the association’s members for their continued contributions and support towards the growth of the school. He encouraged the students to take full advantage of the newly commissioned projects and uphold the legacy of excellence that EBHS is known for.
The 112th Founders’ Day celebrations underscored EKOBA’s commitment to the long-term development of the school and its students.
